Chakra Balancing Meditation

Inspired by the beautiful Ingrid Gravestein I created the following meditation which my House of Yoga students today LOVED and I thought worth sharing! Namaste πŸ™‚ xo

Bring your focus and attention to your first chakra, located at the base of your pelvis. It glows with a red light. The lotus flower located at your base chakra has four petals. Visualise and experience the red light of your base chakra expanding as all four petals open and unfurl. Now silently repeat the mantra: I release FEAR, I embrace SECURITY.

Now bring your focus and attention to your second chakra, located just beneath your belly button. It glows with an orange light. The lotus at your second chakra has six petals. Visualise and experience the orange light of your second chakra expanding as all six petals open and unfurl to the world. Now silently repeat to yourself: I release CRAVING, I embrace PLEASURE.

Now bring your focus and attention to your third chakra, located at your solar plexus, above your belly button. It glows with a yellow light. Your third chakra has ten petals. Visualise and experience the yellow light of your third chakra expanding as all ten petals open and unfurl to the world around you. Now repeat the mantra: I release EGOTISM, I embrace SELF-CONFIDENCE.

Now bring your focus and attention to your heart, your fourth chakra, the centre of your being. Your heart is the bridge between your upper, ethereal chakras and your lower, material chakras. Your fourth chakra shimmers emerald green light. The lotus at your fourth chakra has twelve petals. Visualise and experience the green light of your fourth chakra expanding as all twelve petals open and unfurl. Now repeat to yourself: I release INTOLERANCE, I embrace UNCONDITIONAL LOVE.

Bring your focus and attention to your fifth chakra, located at your throat. Your fifth chakra is illuminated sky blue. It has sixteen petals. Visualise and experience the blue light of your fifth chakra expanding as all sixteen petals open and unfurl to the world. Now repeat the mantra: I release RESTRICTION, I embrace SELF-EXPRESSION.

Now bring your focus and attention to your sixth chakra, your forehead centre, your third eye. Your sixth chakra has a deep indigo glow. The lotus at your sixth chakra is shaped like an eye, with two petals, representing the upper and lower eyelashes. Visualise and experience the indigo glow of your sixth chakra expanding as both petals open and unfurl to the world around you. Now repeat the mantra: I release FORGETFULNESS and CONFUSION, I embrace CLARITY.

Bring your focus and attention to your seventh chakra, at the crown of your head. Imagine a white column of light shooting up and out of your crown chakra. Your crown chakra has one thousand petals, each of them bathing in the white light. Visualise and experience the white light of your crown chakra pulsing up out of you to the universe beyond as all one thousand petals open and unfurl. Now repeat to yourself: I release LONLINESS, I embrace COMMUNITY.

Bring your focus and attention to all seven chakras, each centre of awareness in your body. Now completely balanced, in total harmony, allow this peaceful space ofcomplete awareness to be carried with you back into your everyday life. Now begin to take some deeper breaths…
